Five New Schools... At the Start of the Academic Year
- Furniture is available through the Ministry of Education’s supply department... and school textbooks are in their final stages.
- A census of vacancies in academic departments... and the consolidation of school budgets in preparation for the new year.
- Air conditioning and water cooler maintenance contracts are in effect... and continuous field inspections are being conducted at operating schools.
The Ministry of Education continues its intensive preparations to welcome the 2026–2027 academic year through a package of measures and tasks that began in early June last year, encompassing its various sectors and educational administrations. It is also preparing to open five new schools, including two kindergartens in Al-Mutlaa, a girls’ secondary school in West Abdullah Al-Mubarak, and two schools for gifted and talented students—one for boys and one for girls.
The Ministry, which is practically overseeing preparations through field visits, has provided the necessary furniture for the five schools through its Supplies and Warehouses Administration, including tables, chairs, office furniture, and computers, as well as the electronic and technical equipment required for teachers’ rooms, administrative offices, school radio stations, and laboratories.
Despite current regional circumstances, the Ministry’s preparations are proceeding steadily without obstacles, particularly with the maintenance contracts for air conditioning systems and water coolers remaining in effect, and the recent finalization of elevator maintenance contracts. This coincides with the preparation of school textbooks, which are being produced by approximately 14 private printing presses working alongside the Government Printing Press. These textbooks will be delivered to the Ministry’s warehouses starting from the 15th of this month until September 1 next year.
On the field level, engineering teams in the Projects and Educational Facilities Administration are conducting continuous field visits to operating schools across various educational districts to monitor their conditions and carry out necessary maintenance before the start of the new academic year. They are also continuously monitoring the implementation of the “Balagh” system and ensuring immediate response to any faults reported by school administrations.
Meanwhile, educational districts are consolidating school budgets for the new year and identifying vacancies across all academic departments, particularly following the completion of interviews for supervisory educational positions, including technical interviews for the position of Department Head, and the finalization of training programs for educational staff.
The Ministry of Education has also determined the approved budgets for its sectors for the 2026–2027 financial year. It has directed them to contact the Supplies and Warehouses Administration to fulfill their needs, while adhering to certain priorities during budget implementation. These priorities include executing actual contracts signed during the current financial year, tenders that have been awarded, and tenders expected to be awarded during the aforementioned financial year, with all funds to be utilized before March 31 next year.
Educational reports revealed that the Technical Guidance sector recently concluded its efforts to propose improvements for the quality of remote education by implementing updates to the Microsoft Teams program. This coincided with internal workshops held by the Technical Guidance sector as part of the professional development program for educational staff.
Reports indicated that some educational administrations had previously completed the process of receiving damaged materials from schools and delivering new supplies, while coordinating with the Supplies and Warehouses Administration to provide schools with their needs in the coming period.
