Ambassador Al-Yassin: Kuwait's Active Contributions to the Region's Civilizational Renaissance

Kuwait’s Ambassador to Indonesia, Khaled Al-Yassin, held talks with Indonesian Minister of Culture Fadli Zon on expanding cultural cooperation through the preparation of a bilateral memorandum of understanding between the two countries.

The meeting took place on Wednesday at the Ministry of Culture’s office in the capital, Jakarta, where Ambassador Al-Yasin and Minister Zon discussed efforts to strengthen cultural ties between Kuwaiti and Indonesian institutions. Al-Yasin praised the deep cultural and civilizational exchange between Kuwait and Indonesia, emphasizing Kuwait’s leadership and distinction in cultural, literary, and scientific fields across the Middle East region.

For his part, Zon stated that the meeting explored ways to enhance cultural relations, including drafting a memorandum of understanding between the two countries and cooperating within the framework of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) agreement, as well as developing cultural diplomacy programs between Indonesia and Kuwait.

Zon expressed his country’s interest in developing joint cooperation between cultural institutions in both nations, particularly in the fields of archaeology, museums, traditional crafts, and folk arts, to help strengthen bonds and enhance communication between the two peoples. He clarified that the proposed cooperation aims to expand cultural exchange, promote awareness of the civilizational and artistic heritage of both countries, and enhance coordination among institutions responsible for culture and heritage.
