Capital Markets Authority Welcomes Athar Delegation to Support National Workforce with Skills

As part of its initiatives stemming from its national project to enhance financial inclusion and investment awareness, the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) received on Wednesday a delegation representing the “Athar” preparatory training program, launched by the Investment Companies Union. The program aims to qualify young national cadres and bridge the gap between theoretical education and practical realities. The delegation comprised students participating in the program, along with relevant officials from the Union.

The one-day field visit to the CMA is part of the “Athar” program’s initiatives, which include visits to key regulatory bodies and institutions operating in the financial sector, allowing participants to closely observe their functions and operational mechanisms.

The visit included a visual presentation providing an overview of the CMA, its establishment, and its specific objectives as outlined in its founding law, particularly concerning the regulation of securities activities, enhancing transparency in these activities, and protecting participants in this sector. The presentation then detailed the functions and jurisdictions of the Authority’s various departments, covering legislative, regulatory, supervisory, and oversight aspects of securities activities, as well as awareness, media, international cooperation, and internal work environment matters.
