Tenders supports government entities to ensure procedural compliance

In a move aimed at accelerating the completion of state project tenders across various sectors, the Board of Directors of the Central Tenders Committee successfully finalized 804 cases for several entities subject to its jurisdiction during last July.

According to a recent statistic issued by the Committee, the achievements included launching 152 tenders and practices, comprising 102 tenders and 50 practices, alongside approving the direct contracting of 74 contracts for the benefit of various government entities. During the same period, the Committee opened 43 bid envelopes, issued 101 recommendation decisions, discussed 97 extension requests and 33 variation orders, in addition to five extension variation orders.

On the regulatory front, the Board of Directors of the Committee imposed 10 penalties on companies and reviewed 72 complaints and appeals submitted by competing companies involved in executing the proposed projects.

Sources familiar with the matter told Al-Rai that “these results reflect the strategy adopted by the Committee’s Board of Directors to expedite the processing of its transactions, thereby supporting government entities in implementing their projects according to approved schedules.” They added that the Committee pays special attention to high-importance tenders by assisting study committees in reaching sound recommendations that ensure the integrity of the award procedures and avoid any obstacles that could affect the execution of projects.
