Kuwaiti Ambassador Presents Credentials as Representative of Kuwait to the UN Programmes in Nairobi

Kuwait’s Ambassador to Kenya, Anas Ma’arifi, presented his credentials as Permanent Representative to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) to Zainab Hawa Bangura, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Nairobi.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Kuwaiti Embassy in Nairobi said that Ambassador Ma’arifi conveyed greetings from His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah; His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah; His Highness the Prime Minister, Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah; and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Jaraah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, along with best wishes for her good health and well-being.

Ambassador Ma’arifi praised the distinguished bilateral relations between Kuwait and the United Nations over the past six decades, recalling the historic and pivotal role played by the Organization in the process of liberating Kuwait from the brutal Iraqi invasion. He highlighted Kuwait’s commitment to joint efforts with the Organization to enhance cooperation that contributes to deepening bilateral relations with UNEP and UN-Habitat, as well as the partnership and support provided by the State of Kuwait to both programs.
