With the launch of the 29th edition of “Dubai Summer Surprises 2026” under the slogan “Hey, Dubai Summer,” the city turns into an open-air stage for life, where tourism, entertainment, shopping, and culture converge into a single tableau, making every day a new story.
In a city accustomed to turning ideas into reality, summer is not limited to shows and discounts. It extends to immersive experiences, innovative destinations, world-class hospitality, and family programs designed to suit various ages and interests.
Al-Rai received an invitation to visit Dubai and explore the top tourist and entertainment facilities suitable for families and children. In Dubai, all roads lead to life and the discovery of the future, with its chapters, tours, and pages visibly etched on the city’s walls, which resemble nothing but itself.
During the tour, we stopped at various stations where the exceptional experience intersects, starting from the worlds of imagination and interaction inside “House of Hype,” leading to one of the world’s most famous theatrical water shows, “La Perle.” These stations confirm that Dubai continues to develop the concept of entertainment tourism by offering experiences that rely more on interaction and innovation than on passive viewing, giving visitors a new reason with each visit to discover the city from a different perspective.
From the first step inside “House of Hype,” visitors realize they are facing an experience that transcends traditional entertainment. Moving between the different experiences formed an enjoyable exploratory journey, as each corner is distinguished by an independent concept and innovative design that gives visitors the feeling of transitioning to a new world. With dazzling, breath-taking brilliance, “La Perle by Dragone” continues to solidify its status as one of Dubai’s most prominent live artistic performances, offering an exceptional experience that blends imagination, creativity, and advanced theatrical techniques in a visual spectacle that captivates the audience from the very first moment.
The show takes place in a theater specifically designed for it in Habtoor City. In moments, the theater transforms from a dry platform into a stunning aquatic space, with seamless and masterful succession of scenic acts that reflect a world-class level of performance and production.
More than 65 artists from various nationalities participate in the show, presenting stunning tableaux that combine aerial acrobatics, jumping and diving from great heights, dance, and lighting and sound effects. La Perle draws its inspiration from Dubai’s history and maritime heritage, particularly the pearl-diving expeditions, presenting this story with a modern spirit that embodies the city’s journey from the past to the future. Thanks to its large-scale production, unique stage engineering, and high artistic standards, the show has become one of Dubai’s premier entertainment landmarks and an essential destination for visitors seeking an unforgettable, world-class experience.
Dubai Summer Surprises 2026 celebrates the emirate’s diverse and rich culinary and restaurant sector, with the return of two highly anticipated events among food enthusiasts. The expanded edition of Dubai Summer Restaurant Week, held from July 13 to August 2, offered families and visitors the opportunity to enjoy carefully curated menus at exceptional value in some of the city’s most renowned restaurants.
Additionally, the “Dish for 10 Dirhams” campaign, running from August 3 to 30, gives food lovers the chance to savor selected dishes for just 10 dirhams across a wide range of participating restaurants. The initiative aims to encourage the exploration of new cuisines and culinary experiences, making dining out a distinctive experience by enabling the public to discover new restaurants and enjoy the vibrant diversity of this dynamic sector at exceptional prices throughout the season.
During the tour, the Mohalla restaurant was visited, taking guests on a journey through the vibrant streets of India. It offers an experience that blends authentic flavors with modern touches in an atmosphere reflecting the warmth and spirit of Indian hospitality.
The restaurant features a diverse menu inspired by the cuisines of Indian cities and neighborhoods, where traditional dishes are presented in innovative ways that preserve their authenticity while giving them a contemporary flair, all within a decor inspired by Indian culture, featuring bright colors and artistic details.
The restaurants participating in this year’s edition also highlight the exceptional diversity characterizing Dubai’s culinary scene, offering a wide array of global cuisines, including Spanish, Italian, Mediterranean, Indian, and Japanese, along with many other international flavors and culinary traditions that reflect Dubai’s status as a leading destination for gastronomy.
A distinctive experience was also enjoyed at Yù & Mì, a modern Chinese cuisine destination inspired by the vibrant atmosphere of Hong Kong in the 1960s. The venue is designed to offer an experience that integrates two complementary worlds: an elegant restaurant focusing on Cantonese and Sichuan cuisines, alongside a Jade Bar, a cocktail bar inspired by jade stone, where music, ambiance, and mixology blend into a cohesive experience.
From jade-colored cocktails prepared using Chinese tea, spices, and aromatic herbs, to rich and boldly presented dishes, the experience unfolds gradually throughout the evening, enhanced by thoughtful touches of ritual and performance elements that lend a distinctive theatrical quality.
During the journey, accommodation was provided at the Mandarin Oriental Downtown Dubai, located within the Vela tower on Sheikh Zayed Road, offering a refined concept of modern hospitality in the heart of the city.
The tower, designed by UNStudio, is distinguished by its unique architectural character. The hotel’s 259 guest rooms and suites reflect contemporary living spaces centered on elegant design, with panoramic views of Dubai’s skyline.
The hotel features a diverse array of dining destinations, including Yù & Mì, Chitarra, and Noia by the Pool, alongside concepts from the Majestas Group such as Billionaire, Lion in the Sun, and FB1. The hotel’s facilities also include a rooftop helipad, a two-story health and wellness spa, rooftop pools surrounded by green spaces, and versatile event halls and spaces for hosting functions and occasions. Mandarin Oriental Downtown Dubai residences are scheduled to open by 2027.
