The Scientific Center and Al-Qassar conclude the 'Bader Wa Yana' summer program
The Scientific Center, one of the centers under the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, concluded the activities of the second cohort of this year’s “Bader Wa Yana” summer volunteering program, organized in collaboration with the General Authority for Palace Affairs, during a closing ceremony held to honor the volunteers’ efforts and appreciate their contributions throughout the program.
The “Bader Wa Yana” program continues its success for the fourth consecutive year since its launch in the summer of 2023. This year’s edition attracted 80 volunteers, with 40 participating in July and another 40 in August, providing them with a comprehensive training and practical experience aimed at developing their skills and refining their expertise.
The ceremony honored volunteers who gained distinctive practical experience within the facilities of the Scientific Center. Some participated in supervising children during summer camp activities, while others worked alongside center staff in various departments, receiving hands-on training in welcoming visitors, delivering scientific presentations, and interacting with the public according to the highest standards of service and professionalism.
Following the ceremony, attendees took a field tour inside the Scientific Center’s facilities, where they observed the volunteers’ work areas and closely witnessed the progress achieved by participants during the program, as well as the skills acquired through practical training and direct collaboration with the center’s teams. This reflected the program’s impact on enhancing their capabilities, boosting their self-confidence, and preparing them for practical experiences that contribute to building their professional futures.
Speaking on the occasion, Assistant Al-Yasin, Director General of the Scientific Center, stated: “We are proud that the ‘Bader Wa Yana’ program has continued for the fourth consecutive year, achieving a tangible impact in developing youth skills and promoting the culture of volunteering. This program stems from our belief in the importance of investing in youth potential by providing practical training opportunities that help shape their personalities and equip them with necessary experiences. We also extend our gratitude to the General Authority for Palace Affairs for their continuous cooperation, and to all volunteers for their commitment and efforts. We look forward to continuing and developing this initiative in the coming years.”
For her part, Aliya Al-Saqer emphasized the importance of partnering with the Scientific Center to support initiatives aimed at empowering youth and enhancing the culture of volunteering. She expressed her appreciation to the Scientific Center for its ongoing collaboration in implementing the “Bader Wa Yana” program, noting that the center was among the first institutions to join the initiative since its launch four years ago, playing a prominent role in supporting its objectives and ensuring its success.
She further clarified that the program has now become part of the government’s family protection program, highlighting that the partnership with the Scientific Center represents an exemplary model of cooperation between government entities and national institutions in implementing initiatives aimed at serving society and developing youth capabilities.
