The Ministry of Commerce launches "Conscious Consumption and a Sustainable Future"
In line with its commitment to the principles of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) sustainability, The Commercial Real Estate Company launched its campaign “Conscious Consumption and a Sustainable Future” to raise awareness about conserving electricity and water usage, in support of Kuwait’s efforts to promote a culture of optimal use of natural resources and disseminate awareness of the importance of reducing consumption, thereby contributing to resource preservation and achieving sustainable development goals.
The campaign focused on disseminating educational content through the company’s social media platforms, highlighting best practices for conserving electricity and water, alongside raising awareness among employees through internal communication channels. Campaign content was also displayed on digital screens in the company’s shopping malls, aiming to inform tenants and extend the campaign’s reach to various segments of society visiting these malls. The goal is to enhance awareness of the importance of conserving electricity and water, and to encourage responsible daily behaviors that contribute to preserving natural resources and curbing wasteful consumption.
Chief Executive Engineer Abdulmajeed Ma’arfi stated, “At The Commercial Real Estate Company, we believe that sustainability is a shared responsibility, and that preserving natural resources is a national duty that begins with simple daily practices. We are committed to raising awareness about the importance of optimal energy and water use, driven by our conviction that building a culture of conservation starts with the individual, and that increasing awareness helps reinforce positive behaviors that contribute to preserving natural resources and enhancing consumption efficiency.”
Ma’arfi added, “Through this campaign, we aim to help solidify a culture of conserving electricity and water, and to reaffirm the importance of individual and institutional contributions to supporting national efforts toward achieving sustainability in Kuwait. We encourage our employees, tenants, mall visitors, and various segments of society to adopt responsible practices that contribute to resource preservation and build a more sustainable future.”
