Electricity Authority surpasses half of summer without planned outages
The Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy has successfully navigated the first half of the summer season in managing electrical loads without resorting to scheduled blackouts, thanks to the conservation measures implemented by the ministry and the support of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) grid.
Sources familiar with the ministry stated that “despite the challenges the ministry faces at present, it has successfully managed the electrical load system well since the start of the summer season and is committed to getting through the remainder of this summer.” They called on everyone to “cooperate with the ministry’s appeals to conserve electricity and water, helping it to continue providing its vital services.”
In a related development, the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy is participating in the fourth season of the national initiative “Sustainability Camp,” held under the slogan “When Technology Meets Sustainability.” The ministry’s participation aligns with its efforts to promote a culture of conserving electricity and water and to reinforce the concept of sustainability among various segments of society, particularly the youth.
The ministry places great emphasis on raising awareness about the importance of optimal energy and water use, based on its conviction that building a culture of conservation begins with the individual, and that raising awareness among new generations contributes to establishing positive behaviors that help preserve natural resources and enhance consumption efficiency.
The ministry also strives to leverage various national and awareness-raising events to convey its conservation messages through its different teams, introducing participants to best practices in electricity and water consumption and highlighting the role of modern technologies and innovation in boosting energy efficiency and supporting the path toward sustainable development.
Young people represent the fundamental pillar in achieving a more sustainable future, as instilling concepts and a culture of conservation in them helps prepare a conscious generation capable of transmitting this culture to their families, schools, and communities, transforming it into daily practices that enhance the preservation of resources, particularly electricity and water.
