Manal Majid Al-Baghdadi, the appointed chairperson of the Popular Theatre Troupe’s board of directors, affirmed that the board elections scheduled for Tuesday, September 1, 2026, represent a pivotal milestone in the troupe’s journey, embodying its democratic approach and its conviction that theatre can only thrive through the unity and dedication of its members to art and culture.
In a media statement, Al-Baghdadi said, “The Popular Theatre Troupe is not merely an artistic institution; it is a home for all theatre practitioners, a national memory preserving the history of Kuwaiti theatre, and a cultural beacon that has contributed over decades to consolidating the values of creativity, identity, and belonging.”
She added that participating in the elections is not just the exercise of an organizational right, but a message of loyalty to this venerable cultural landmark and a renewal of commitment to continue working with a spirit of teamwork, in order to fulfill the aspirations of the general assembly members and enhance the troupe’s standing in the cultural and artistic arena.
