Ali Al-Ali to Al-Rai: The main championship triangle is complete in... 'Layl Kharmais'

- The gathering of three giants of Gulf and Arab art in a short series is rare by nature.

- Collaboration with Bahraini writer Mohammed Shams and director Mutaaz Hussam are key elements in building the project.

Saudi producer Ali Al-Ali continues to finalize agreements with Gulf and Arab stars who are expected to participate in the seasonal Saudi series “Layl Kharms,” produced by Al-Adasa Al-Lami’a (The Shining Lens) for Artistic Production, in a new endeavor aimed at presenting different content within the Gulf dramatic landscape.

After previously announcing through “Al-Rai” his signing of actress Huda Hussein for the project, Al-Ali revealed again to “Al-Rai” the addition of Syrian actress Amal Arfa, one of the most prominent stars of Arab drama with a long artistic career spanning decades, during which she secured a special place in the hearts of audiences through her diverse works in both drama and comedy.

He also confirmed the contract with Saudi star Abdulmohsen Al-Nemer, one of the most prominent names in Gulf drama, who boasts an impressive portfolio of television roles that have solidified his presence over the years, thereby completing the main trio of lead actors in a dramatic experience that brings together an elite group of Gulf and Arab names.

In detail, Al-Ali said: “We are pleased that the artist Amal Arfa has joined the production team. She is an actress with a distinguished artistic history and a special presence. Her presence alongside a star of Huda Hussein’s stature adds significant value to the series. Furthermore, the addition of Saudi star Abdulmohsen Al-Nemer gives the project greater weight, especially since the gathering of these names brings a high level of distinction in terms of performance and presence. Personally, I believe that bringing together three giants of Gulf and Arab art in a short series is inherently rare.”

He added, “From the beginning, our goal was to deliver an exceptional work with a distinct identity, whether in terms of concept, treatment, or team selection. We ensured that all elements in the series were cohesive, as we believe that the quality of any dramatic experience begins with the strength of the script, continues through execution, and culminates in the selection of suitable actors.”

Al-Ali clarified that “Layl Kharms” represents a Saudi production experience with a Gulf character, stating, “We are facing a project through which we aspire to present a new level of drama, featuring a story full of suspense, a directorial vision attentive to details, and an artistic team capable of translating this vision to the screen. I am convinced that this will be an experience that leaves an impact on Gulf drama, and I look forward to the audience seeing the result and judging for themselves.”

He continued, “Collaboration with Bahraini writer Mohammed Shams and director Mutaaz Hussam was a crucial element in building this work, as the script carries a unique idea, and the director possesses a vision that helps present the story in an engaging manner, maintaining the rhythm of events and giving the characters their presence.”

Al-Ali noted that the selection of the lead actors came after careful study, saying, “We always seek works that carry artistic value and provide actors with space to offer something new. The presence of names such as Huda Hussein, Amal Arfa, and Abdulmohsen Al-Nemer reflects the level of attention we are giving to this project. We will announce the remaining cast members sequentially in the coming period.”
