Welsh FA withdraws support for Infantino's re-election as FIFA president

Wales became the first nation today to announce it is withdrawing its support for the re-election of FIFA President Gianni Infantino, following the failure of his plan to sell stakes in the World Cup.

The Football Association of Wales stated in a press release that it would not back Infantino’s candidacy for a new term spanning 2027 to 2031, citing “failures in good governance, procedures, and leadership.”
