Kuwait's Follow-up to Regional De-escalation Efforts

In a series of phone calls, Foreign Minister Sheikh Jaraah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah continued to follow up on the latest regional developments and efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region.

On Sunday, Sheikh Jaraah held a telephone conversation with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the sister United Arab Emirates, as well as with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the sister State of Qatar.

The Foreign Minister also received a phone call from Dr. Bader Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Expatriates of the sister Arab Republic of Egypt.

In separate statements, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the calls reviewed the latest regional developments and discussed diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions, enhancing security and stability in the region, and ensuring the safety and freedom of maritime navigation.

In a related development, the United Arab Emirates strongly condemned the aggressive Iranian attack, which targeted Kuwait using drones. In a statement on Saturday, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that this aggressive attack constitutes a blatant violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty and a threat to its security and stability.

The ministry affirmed the UAE’s full solidarity with sister Kuwait and its support alongside Kuwait in confronting this brazen aggression, emphasizing its unwavering support for all measures Kuwait takes to safeguard its security, stability, and territorial integrity.
