"Written in Love for Kuwait"... To Document the National Memory

The Kuwait National Library hosted the morning session of the “Books in Love with Kuwait” exhibition, organized under the auspices of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, on the occasion of the 36th anniversary of the brutal Iraqi invasion of the State of Kuwait. The event is part of a series of cultural activities designed to recall pivotal moments in the nation’s history and underscore the importance of documentation and preserving national memory.

The exhibition featured a diverse collection of novels, short stories, autobiographies, as well as books on Kuwaiti history and heritage, national studies, and publications documenting various stages of Kuwait’s history. Together, these works highlight values of belonging and loyalty, and strengthen national identity among all segments of society.

The exhibition attracted considerable interest from visitors and book enthusiasts, who explored titles covering key milestones in Kuwait’s history, alongside works that illuminated the resilience and unity of the Kuwaiti people during the occupation and the subsequent phases of liberation and reconstruction.
