Banking Studies Launches the Fifth Edition of "Risk Management Leaders"

In line with the strategic efforts of the Central Bank of Kuwait to build highly qualified national cadres across various financial and banking sectors, and with the aim of enhancing capabilities in risk management—a field of critical importance for strengthening the banking environment and safeguarding financial operations—the Institute of Banking Studies launched the fifth edition of the Risk Management Leaders Program. This program is part of the “Kafa’a” initiative led by the Central Bank, in collaboration with Kuwaiti banks, and is administered by the Institute.
This was stated in a statement by Bassel Al-Haroun, Governor of the Central Bank and Chairman of the Institute’s Board of Directors, who noted that the program aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to make informed decisions and develop effective strategies for risk management in banks and financial institutions.
The program spans five months, divided into four non-consecutive phases. The first and second phases are held in Kuwait and include training programs and practical lectures on risk management, conducted in partnership with global specialized institutions to obtain accredited and specialized certifications. The program offers multiple training tracks with professional local and international lecturers in the field. The third phase involves the preparation and presentation of case studies and graduation projects, followed by the fourth and final phase, where participants receive international training over two weeks in the United Kingdom in collaboration with the University of St Andrews Business School. This provides them with practical experience and professional competencies through workshops and interactive educational experiences. The program also covers travel, accommodation, and local transportation costs.
