Specific Colors for the Uniform of Health Personnel
Minister of Health Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadi issued Ministerial Decision No. 197 of 2026 concerning the amendment of certain regulations governing the standardization of public appearance, official attire, and professional dress in the public and private sectors. The decision stipulates the determination of clinical uniform colors for each category of healthcare practitioners, specifying that dark navy blue is designated for medical professions (physicians and dentists), and navy blue for supervisory positions within the nursing and midwifery cadre. Light blue or white is assigned to members of the nursing and midwifery staff. The decision also maintains the official uniform for all practitioners of other medical auxiliary professions unchanged.
Furthermore, the decision established regulations for the official uniforms of the Ministry’s engineers and staff with engineering profiles. The primary color of the uniform is black, with the upper part (front and back) made of highly breathable mesh fabric, while the lower part is constructed from durable fabric resistant to field use. The uniform is equipped with two adjustable side belts using Velcro fasteners, in addition to high-visibility fluorescent yellow-green reflective strips and a silver reflective strip. These are distributed as two strips on the shoulders, two horizontal strips on the front, and two horizontal strips on the back.
The decision mandated that the uniform include two front lower pockets equipped with zippers for storing personal items, along with an embroidered patch on the left chest bearing the Ministry’s logo. The jacket must feature two upper pockets with flaps, two slanted side pockets with zippers, a silver reflective strip on each shoulder, two reflective strips on each sleeve, and two reflective strips around each pant leg. The Ministry’s logo is affixed to the front of the jacket, with designated spaces for the employee’s name and job title. The back of the jacket must bear the inscription “Engineering Affairs and Projects Sector,” with “E.A.P.S.” printed below it.
The decision further required that the uniform be made of high-quality professional fabric resistant to friction, tearing, and light chemical oils, and treated for flame resistance suitable for field work. It emphasized that all stitching, reflective strips, and logos must be of high quality and securely attached to ensure durability under repeated use and washing.
