Bin Issa: 38,000 Kuwaitis visited Morocco in 2025
The Moroccan Ambassador to Kuwait, Ali Ben Issa, affirmed that Morocco-Kuwait relations represent a model of entrenched Arab partnership, rooted in solid historical and fraternal ties. He praised Kuwait’s steadfast and supportive stance regarding Morocco’s territorial integrity, as well as the close relations between the leaderships of both countries, which have contributed to consolidating cooperation across various fields.
Speaking at an event hosted by the Moroccan Embassy to commemorate the 27th anniversary of King Mohammed VI’s accession to the throne, Ambassador Ben Issa was joined by State Minister for Economic Affairs and Investment Abdulaziz Al-Marzouq, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Mishaal Al-Sabah, Al-Jahra Governor Hamad Al-Habashi, Assistant Minister for Arab Affairs Abdulaziz Al-Adwani, Assistant Minister for Human Rights Sheikha Jawaher Daaj Al-Sabah, along with several heads of diplomatic missions and members of the Moroccan community.
He stated that Kuwait is not merely a strategic partner for Morocco, but a “beloved country” bound to the Kingdom by relations based on mutual respect, solidarity, and cooperation. He expressed his appreciation for the genuine fraternal sentiments held by Kuwait’s leadership, government, and people toward Morocco.
He commended Kuwait’s principled and unwavering position supporting the Kingdom’s territorial integrity, noting that this stance is highly valued in Rabat and reflects the depth of the fraternal relations between the two countries. He added that these ties are also grounded in the historical connections between King Mohammed VI and his brother, His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
Ambassador Ben Issa emphasized that under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, the Kingdom has made economic development a central pillar of its modernization drive, transforming it today into an attractive platform for economic, industrial, and logistical investments. This success is attributed to the country’s political and institutional stability, advanced infrastructure, and an enabling legal framework, alongside the growth of the automotive, aviation, renewable energy, green economy, and digital economy sectors.
The ambassador clarified that economic relations between Kuwait and Morocco have seen significant progress in recent years. Bilateral trade reached approximately 943 million dirhams in 2024, with growth continuing into 2025. Moroccan exports to Kuwait rose by 7.1 percent during the first half of the year.
He added that Kuwait is the third-largest Arab investor in Morocco, with investments spanning strategic sectors including real estate, renewable energy, telecommunications, financial services, and tourism. He noted that the direct flight route between Kuwait and Casablanca has facilitated travel and tourism exchanges, with the number of Kuwaiti visitors to Morocco exceeding 38,000 in 2025.
Ambassador Ben Issa pointed out that 2025 witnessed a surge in economic cooperation through the organization of two business forums, coordinated with the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry and involving Moroccan economic institutions. These events opened new horizons for partnerships between the private sectors of both countries.
He expressed his country’s hope that the upcoming session of the Morocco-Kuwait High Joint Commission, scheduled to take place in Morocco in the coming months, will serve as a crucial milestone for updating the legal framework governing bilateral relations, signing new agreements and memorandums of understanding, and launching practical cooperation programs across various fields.
