"Al-Taqaddum Al-Ilmi" Concludes the Tenth Edition of the "Generation of Science" Program
The Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) concluded the tenth edition of the “Generation Science” program for 2026, which was implemented in two stages targeting middle and high school students. The program delivered an interactive educational experience that combined scientific lectures, practical workshops, hands-on experiments, group challenges, and field visits to scientific, academic, and cultural institutions.
In a statement marking the program’s conclusion, KFAS noted that “Generation Science” is part of its efforts to foster young people’s interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), and to strengthen a culture of research and innovation among them. This is achieved through an inspiring educational environment that enables participants to transition from passive knowledge acquisition to active experimentation and application, as well as direct interaction with academics, researchers, and specialists.
The foundation explained that the program’s content was tailored to the age and cognitive levels of participants at each stage. The middle school stage focused on cultivating scientific passion and enhancing thinking, communication, and learning-through-experience skills. Meanwhile, the high school stage offered more in-depth content in scientific and creative thinking, planning, idea generation, and problem-solving, alongside the development of teamwork, communication, and presentation skills.
KFAS reported that the program engaged a distinguished group of Kuwaiti academics, scientists, and researchers, who contributed their scientific and research expertise to deliver rich content aligned with Kuwait’s priorities and developmental needs. This provided students with an inspiring educational experience that strengthens their connection to science and motivates them to explore and innovate.
The program also allowed students to explore diverse scientific fields and disciplines, participate in experiments and practical workshops, and visit scientific and academic environments. These visits gave them close-up insights into the nature of scientific research and its applications, as well as opportunities to interact with specialists, helping them explore their interests and form a clearer vision of their future academic and career paths.
The high school stage concluded with an exhibition of student projects, where 20 student groups presented scientific and innovative projects based on Kuwait’s national priorities. This reinforced the connection between learning and issues relevant to society and development. The exhibition served as a practical platform for students to apply the skills they acquired during the program, particularly in science communication, by simplifying scientific ideas and concepts and presenting them to the public across different age groups and knowledge backgrounds in an interactive and impactful manner.
KFAS emphasized that the “Generation Science” program goes beyond delivering scientific knowledge; it also places balanced emphasis on developing participants’ personal skills, including self-confidence, critical thinking, collaboration, and the ability to articulate ideas and transform them into scalable projects and initiatives.
The foundation stressed that the program’s continuation for its tenth year reflects its commitment to investing in the country’s young national talents, expanding the base of those interested in science and innovation, and preparing a generation equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to contribute to Kuwait’s future. This aligns with KFAS’s 2025–2029 Strategy, which aims to develop national capacities and enhance the role of science, technology, and innovation in building a knowledge-based economy.
