The Jordanian Ambassador to Kuwait, Sanaa Al-Mujalli, has invited Kuwaiti citizens to choose Jordan as their tourist destination for the current summer season, emphasizing that the Kingdom possesses natural, cultural, and recreational assets that make it one of the region’s top tourist destinations, alongside a calendar full of festivals and events catering to diverse tastes.
Speaking to “Al-Rai,” Al-Mujalli noted that Jordan always welcomes visitors from Kuwait and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. He pointed out that the summer season features a variety of events, headlined by the Jerash Festival of Culture and Arts, Amman Summer, and Aqaba Waves, alongside artistic performances by a select group of Arab artists in Amman, Jerash, Aqaba, and Petra, offering visitors a comprehensive experience that combines history, nature, culture, and entertainment.
The Jordanian ambassador revealed the launch of the integrated digital platform “Ahlan bi Al-Urdun” (Welcome to Jordan) by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, in collaboration with the Tourism Promotion Board and tourism associations. The platform targets Arab markets, particularly the Kuwaiti and GCC markets, aiming to facilitate trip planning to the Kingdom and boost inbound tourism.
He explained that the platform serves as a unified digital window allowing visitors to view tourism programs, select those that suit their preferences, and complete bookings electronically with ease. This aligns with Jordan’s shift toward digital transformation and enhancing the tourist experience from the moment they begin planning their trip.
He added that the platform offers comprehensive tourism programs ranging from three to eight days, with prices starting at $180 per person. According to the program, these packages include hotel accommodation, transportation services, tour guides, and entrance tickets to several archaeological sites, as well as accommodation in Petra across all offered programs.
Al-Mujalli noted that the platform will contribute to supporting tourism establishments, increasing hotel nights, stimulating economic activity, and opening new markets for Jordanian tourism products. He affirmed that the Jordanian Embassy in Kuwait will continue to promote this initiative and encourage Kuwaiti brothers to take advantage of it.
In this context, Al-Mujalli expressed Jordan’s pride in the inclusion of the Aqaba Marine Protected Area on the UNESCO World Heritage List, describing the decision as a new national achievement that enhances the Kingdom’s position on the global eco-tourism map.
He added that this international recognition underscores the environmental and scientific value of the coral reefs in the Gulf of Aqaba, which are among the most heat-resistant coral reefs in the world, giving them increasing importance amid climate change challenges.
Al-Mujalli emphasized that this achievement is the result of the environmental vision led by King Abdullah II, with the follow-up of Crown Prince Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, alongside the efforts of the Jordanian government, the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, national institutions, experts, researchers, and nature conservation partners over the years.
He pointed out that Jordan will continue implementing its plans to preserve this global site by enhancing environmental monitoring programs, water quality surveillance, and biodiversity tracking, ensuring the preservation of the exceptional value of the Aqaba Marine Protected Area for future generations.
Concluding his remarks, Al-Majali emphasized that Jordan combines its civilizational heritage, stunning natural landscapes, and advanced tourism infrastructure, making it a comprehensive destination for Kuwaiti brothers. He added, “Jordan is your second home; our hearts open to you even before our doors, and we look forward to welcoming you and enjoying all the tourism, cultural, and environmental diversity that the Kingdom has to offer.”
