The preparations for the upcoming 2026–2027 academic year have begun to accelerate rapidly at the Ministry of Education, aiming to provide the necessary resources for the educational process and ensure a successful school year. The ministry has fulfilled the first requirement for the academic year by ensuring the availability of textbooks for all educational stages, which will be in its warehouses by the scheduled mid-month deadline.

In this context, an official source confirmed to Al-Rai that 13 private printing presses, along with the Government Printing Press under the Ministry of Information, are currently working on printing the new batches of school textbooks (first parts). The source noted that printing operations are proceeding according to the established plan in terms of quality, prices, and timeline.

The source clarified that the printing presses are nearing completion of all required quantities, with deliveries to the Ministry of Education to begin in batches starting August 15, and to be fully completed before September 1.

He added that work is proceeding excellently at both the Government Printing Press and private presses, emphasizing that there are no obstacles that could cause delivery delays. He pointed out that all printing presses had secured printing paper prior to the outbreak of the current crisis, thereby avoiding any impacts or hindrances that might arise from regional circumstances.

The source indicated that the printing of the new books followed the mechanism previously adopted by the Ministry of Education, which involves dividing each textbook into two parts to reduce the weight of students’ schoolbags. The ministry exempted some high school textbooks from this rule, stipulating that a book be divided into two parts only if it exceeds 170 pages, while remaining in a single part if it contains fewer pages.

The Ministry of Education announced the launch of educational cultural clubs at 12 centers distributed across various educational districts, with the participation of approximately 7,560 learners from the primary stage up to the ninth grade. This initiative is part of a free educational program running from today, Sunday, until August 19. The ministry stated that it has completed its preparations for launching the clubs and welcoming registered learners by equipping the centers, assigning the necessary educational and administrative staff, and preparing to open educational classrooms at each center according to the number of registered learners and their educational needs.

It further added that the clubs offer free educational and foundational programs in three core subjects: Arabic, English, and Mathematics. The aim is to enhance learners’ basic skills, address areas of weakness, and support their reading, writing, comprehension, and understanding abilities, thereby contributing to improved academic achievement and preparing them for the new academic year.
