Remittances from Saudi expatriates to Kuwait grow by 2% to $22.7 billion in the first half

Al Arabiya - Personal remittances by foreign residents in Saudi Arabia (expatriates) rose by 1.95 percent year-on-year during the first six months of 2026, reaching $22.74 billion (SAR 85.29 billion), compared to $22.31 billion (SAR 83.66 billion) in the same period last year, according to statistics compiled by Al Arabiya Business.

Expatriate remittances in Saudi Arabia increased by approximately 2.07 percent year-on-year in the second quarter of 2026, reaching $11.33 billion (SAR 42.5 billion), compared to $11.1 billion (SAR 41.64 billion) in the same quarter of the previous year.

Personal remittances by non-Saudis had previously risen by 1.8 percent year-on-year in the first quarter of 2026, reaching $11.41 billion (SAR 42.79 billion), compared to $11.2 billion (SAR 42.02 billion) in the same quarter of 2025.

Remittances declined by approximately 0.9 percent year-on-year in June 2026, reaching $3.65 billion (SAR 13.7 billion), compared to $3.69 billion (SAR 13.83 billion) in the same month last year.

Foreigners' remittances in the Kingdom continued to decline on a month-on-month basis in June for the third consecutive month. They stood at $3.77 billion (SAR 14.15 billion) in May 2026, compared to $3.91 billion (SAR 14.65 billion) in April, and $4.51 billion (SAR 16.92 billion) in March, which marked the highest level of remittances since the beginning of the current year.

On the level of personal financial remittances by Saudis, there was a decline of 11.02 percent year-on-year in the first six months of 2026, reaching $8.55 billion (SAR 32.06 billion), compared to $9.6 billion (SAR 36.03 billion) in the corresponding period last year.

Saudi remittances recorded a decline of 2.05 percent in the second quarter of 2026 to $4.49 billion (SAR 16.85 billion), while they fell by 19.2 percent year-on-year in the first quarter to $4.06 billion (SAR 15.2 billion).

Saudi remittances increased by 5.67 percent year-on-year in June, reaching $1.77 billion (SAR 6.62 billion), compared to $1.67 billion (SAR 6.27 billion) in the same month last year.

Personal remittances by Saudis in June increased by 39.9 percent on a month-on-month basis compared to their value in May 2026, which stood at $1.26 billion (SAR 4.73 billion).
