KPC Awards $2.2 Billion in Contracts in First Half of 2026

- KD 466.6 million for the Mutrah Integrated Project

Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) signed 129 contracts during the first half of 2026, with a total value estimated at approximately KD 2.2 billion. This was done as part of implementing production development programs, enhancing drilling and exploration operations, and improving the efficiency of the company’s infrastructure and operational services in its fields.

The contracts, a copy of which was reviewed by *Al-Rai*, were distributed across key sectors including drilling operations and well maintenance, flowline projects, cementing and testing services, infrastructure development, technical consulting, cybersecurity, as well as medical and operational support services. This reflects the company’s continued support for plans to increase production capacity and enhance the readiness of its oil assets.

During January, KOC signed 13 contracts with a total value of approximately KD 49.6 million. The most notable contracts included the supply of 1,500-horsepower drilling rigs for well maintenance operations worth KD 13.4 million, a contract for enterprise geographic information systems services worth KD 12.8 million, a hazardous waste management contract for drilling and well maintenance operations worth KD 9.8 million, and a building maintenance and civil works contract for Al Ahmadi Specialist Hospital worth KD 3 million.

February saw the signing of 20 contracts with a total value nearing KD 650 million, driven by several major projects. The most prominent included contracts for new water injection networks in northern Kuwait worth KD 23.7 million, new water injection network projects worth KD 36 million, the full management of the Mutrah project worth KD 466.6 million, and a contract for pipelines and manifolds in northern Kuwait worth KD 34.7 million.

In March, 27 contracts were signed with a total value estimated at approximately KD 250 million. Contracts in this month focused on supporting drilling and production operations. The most notable were a series of contracts for the supply of drilling rigs for drilling and well maintenance with Chinese, Kazakh, Kuwaiti, and Omani companies, with values ranging between KD 10 million and KD 13 million per contract.

Other contracts included a supply contract for rock drill bits worth KD 35 million, a consulting services contract for exploration and development worth KD 12.4 million, and an infrastructure and facilities development contract in Al Ahmadi Valley for Innovation worth KD 4.5 million.

During April, the company signed 20 contracts with a total value of approximately KD 500 million. The most notable contracts included a group health insurance policy for company employees worth approximately KD 127.4 million, a project for the construction of flowlines and related works worth KD 174.2 million, and a similar contract with another company worth KD 77.3 million. The contracts also included cementing services for drilling and well maintenance operations, with values exceeding KD 20 million per contract.

In May, 29 contracts were signed with a total value estimated at approximately KD 300 million. The most notable contracts included the construction of flowlines and related works, valued at approximately KD 195.7 million, distributed across several packages, as well as contracts for the supply of drilling rigs for drilling and well maintenance operations, at KD 12 million per contract.

The contracts also included cementing services related to drilling operations with values exceeding KD 20 million, and a specialized consulting services contract for transformation initiatives at KOC worth KD 1.75 million.

During June, the company signed 20 contracts with a total value of approximately KD 320 million. The most notable contracts included the Research Center in the Ahmadi Innovation Valley Project (Package B), valued at KD 118 million; the Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) systems contract, valued at KD 45.6 million; and the supply contract for rock drill bits, valued at KD 20.9 million.

The contracts also included well-testing services with specialized companies, valued between KD 12 million and KD 19 million, as well as contracts for the treatment of drilling waste, with a combined value exceeding KD 27 million.
