Barcelona signs Belgian player Beseau

Paris (AFP) – Spanish football champions Barcelona have signed young Belgian winger Jesse Biesei until 2031, bringing him from Club Brugge, where he had been playing for the reserve team in Belgium’s second division.
Barcelona did not disclose the transfer fee, but according to local media, the deal is worth around 8.5 million euros ($9.9 million), with Club Brugge set to receive 20 percent of any future sale of the player.
The 18-year-old Biesei will become only the third Belgian player in Barcelona’s history to wear the club’s shirt, following Fernand Goyvaerts in the 1960s and Thomas Vermaelen in more recent years.
Biesei is comfortable playing on both the left and right wings and attracted attention during the 2025 UEFA European Under-17 Championship, where he was named to the tournament’s all-star team.
He is expected to split his time between Barcelona’s first team and reserve side during his initial months at the club.
