1.21 billion dinars in stock market gains since the outbreak of the war

The market capitalization of companies listed on the Kuwait Stock Exchange rose during July, posting gains of approximately 256 million dinars, equivalent to 0.5%, to reach 52.415 billion dinars, compared to 52.159 billion at the end of June.

With these increases, the exchange surpassed its pre-US-Iran war levels (five months prior) by 1.217 billion dinars, a rise of 2.37% compared to the session on February 24, when it stood at 51.198 billion dinars.

The Main Market accounted for the largest share of gains, recording an increase of 745 million dinars, or 9.2%, rising from 8.065 billion at the end of February to 8.81 billion at the end of July. Meanwhile, the First Market rose by 1.09%, or 472 million dinars, to reach 43.605 billion, compared to 43.133 billion.

On the other hand, key indices recorded collective gains during July. The General Index rose by 0.57%, or 50.3 points, compared to its levels at the end of June. The First Market Index climbed by 1.46%, or approximately 132.8 points, and the “Main 50” Index rose by 2.43%, or approximately 239 points. Conversely, the Main Market Index declined by 3.58%, or 324.8 points.
