Kuwait: Our commitment to combating human trafficking is firm

In a statement issued on Thursday, the Ministry emphasized Kuwait’s continued development of its national framework by strengthening its legislative and institutional architecture, supporting mechanisms for prevention, protection, and criminal prosecution, and intensifying awareness-raising and capacity-building programs, in line with its international commitments and the Sustainable Development Goals.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also underscored the importance of enhancing international and regional cooperation, exchanging expertise, and developing partnerships with relevant stakeholders, to contribute to preventing human trafficking, protecting victims, and holding perpetrators accountable.
It noted that this year’s theme, “Trapped in the Fraud Trap,” highlights the exploitation of victims in cyber fraud centers, where they are coerced into committing crimes, thereby necessitating enhanced joint efforts to protect victims and safeguard their rights.
