Fahad Al-Yousef to Al-Rai: Under Sheikh Meshal, no one will be wronged... But the injustice against Kuwait must be lifted

- Kuwaitis will never suffer injustice, as they are under the protection of His Highness the Commander, who yearns for justice and equity and who, with a firm will, prevents injustice and corruption.

- No Kuwaiti accepts injustice being inflicted upon their country, nor the deliberate harm and tarnishing of its image, both domestically and internationally.

- The entire world knows what Kuwait provides its citizens in terms of a dignified livelihood and the preservation of human dignity.

The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah, reassured Kuwaitis that no one among them would be oppressed or wronged during the reign of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. However, he stressed that the injustice that has affected Kuwait must be rectified.

This statement came in response to the decision by the Supreme Committee for Citizenship to revoke the Kuwaiti citizenship of certain Kuwaitis who hold citizenship under Article One, but who chose a path that harms their country, squandering ample opportunity and time to return from their erroneous course. Unfortunately, they failed to act as patriotism dictates.

Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef told Al-Rai newspaper that “Kuwaitis will never suffer injustice, as they are under the protection of His Highness, may God preserve and protect him. As everyone knows, he is the Commander who yearns for justice and equity and who, with a firm will, prevents injustice and corruption.”

Al-Yousef emphasized that Kuwaitis in their homeland are “secure in their lives, honor, and wealth, just as they are secure in their citizenship.” However, none of them would accept injustice being inflicted upon their country, Kuwait, nor the deliberate harm and tarnishing of its image, both domestically and internationally, up to incitement against Kuwait by all means, with some going so far as to incite protests in front of Kuwaiti embassies abroad.

Al-Yousef stated: “It is not only Kuwaitis, but the entire world, who know what Kuwait provides its citizens in terms of a dignified livelihood and the preservation of human dignity. Otherwise, we would not see such a large number of people seeking Kuwaiti citizenship by all means, given all the benefits that this citizenship entails, which are rare in the world.”

He added: “A country like Kuwait does not deserve ingratitude from its sons or severe injustice from any of them. It is unjust to Kuwait to remain silent about such practices. Therefore, members of the Supreme Committee for Citizenship deemed it appropriate to apply Article 14 of the Citizenship Law, revoking the Kuwaiti citizenship of those individuals, after they had forfeited every opportunity to return to reason and correctness.”
