Peru Ambassador: Promising Opportunities for Cooperation with Kuwait in Infrastructure, Food Security, and Mining
The Ambassador of the Republic of Peru to Kuwait, Carlos Jimenez, affirmed that bilateral relations between his country and Kuwait are witnessing growing momentum in various fields, particularly economic and investment sectors. He noted that both nations possess significant opportunities to expand their partnership and enhance cooperation in ways that serve their mutual interests.
This statement was made by Ambassador Jimenez during a speech at the Peruvian Embassy’s celebration of the 205th anniversary of Peru’s independence. The event was attended by Assistant Undersecretary of State for the Americas Affairs, Minister Plenipotentiary Abdulaziz Al-Qudfan, along with several heads of diplomatic missions, representatives of international organizations, government officials, businessmen, and private sector representatives.
Jimenez stated that this year’s celebration follows a year in which both countries marked the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, reflecting the strength of their friendship and cooperation ties, as well as a shared desire to elevate bilateral partnership to broader levels.
He pointed out that Peruvian exporters are ready to expand their presence in the Kuwaiti market by offering products characterized by quality, sustainability, and innovation, including agricultural products, coffee, seafood products, textiles and apparel, and processed foods. These efforts aim to build long-term commercial partnerships that yield mutual benefits for both countries.
Ambassador Jimenez invited Kuwaiti investors to take advantage of the investment opportunities available in Peru. He emphasized that economic diplomacy is not limited to enhancing trade and investment exchanges, but extends to building bridges of trust, strengthening communication between peoples, exchanging expertise, and establishing sustainable partnerships that achieve shared prosperity.
Coinciding with the celebrations, the Peruvian Embassy in Kuwait organized the “Peru Investment and Trade Exhibition,” which showcased prominent Peruvian products and industries, including premium coffee, quinoa, value-added food products, and traditional textiles, alongside samples of the country’s mineral wealth, notably gold and strategic minerals.
Ambassador Jimenez affirmed that organizing the exhibition embodies the Peruvian Embassy’s commitment to strengthening bilateral economic relations and promoting Peru as a reliable partner in investment and trade. He expressed hope that such initiatives would contribute to opening new horizons for economic and commercial cooperation, and to building strategic partnerships between the public and private sectors in Kuwait and Peru.
