Ghida Al-Ammar: My Martyr Sister Wafaa... Her Story in Trustworthy Hands

In response to Al-Rai’s publication about the cinematic film “Wafa,” which sheds light on the story of her sister, the martyr and heroine Wafa Al-Amir, Ghaida Al-Amir expressed her gratitude and appreciation to the writer and director Ramadan Khasrawi, and to producer Abdulrahman Al-Din, for the special preparations for the upcoming film, titled “Wafa.” She emphasized that the diligence and care she observed from the initial stages of preparation gave her and her family a sense of reassurance and confidence that the biography of her martyr sister, Wafa, would be presented in a manner befitting her and her contributions to her country, and would be in trustworthy hands.

Al-Amir said, “My deepest thanks and appreciation go to the writer and director, as well as the producer and the entire production team without exception, for their sincere loyalty in choosing the character of my sister, the martyr Wafa Al-Amir, and for their great commitment to immortalizing her memory in a way that honors her.”

She added, “What touched my heart most was the director Khasrawi’s statement to me: ‘I will write a film about your sister, and I will not accept anything that tarnishes her reputation.’ That single sentence alone was enough to reassure us that the project is in trustworthy hands, and that its purpose is not merely an artistic work, but a message of loyalty and respect for the history and biography of a Kuwaiti girl who sacrificed her life for her country.”

She continued, “Thank you for handling her story with full responsibility, preserving her legacy and dignity, and recognizing that behind this character is a family that continues to live with both pride and pain simultaneously.”

She concluded her statement by saying, “I pray to God to grant you success, and may this work be a fitting tribute to the name Wafa, introducing her story to future generations.”
