Kuwait and Pakistan: Elevating Relations

The Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the friendly nation’s Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, received today, Wednesday, Foreign Minister Sheikh Jaraah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, on the occasion of his official visit to the Pakistani capital, Islamabad. The meeting was attended by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, as well as the ministers of Defense, Trade, National Food Security and Research, Communications, Maritime Affairs, and Petroleum, along with a number of senior Pakistani officials.

During the meeting, the longstanding historical bilateral relations between the two countries and their friendly peoples were reviewed, and ways to elevate and strengthen cooperation across various fields were discussed, in a manner that serves the shared interests of both nations.

The latest regional developments and efforts aimed at enhancing security and stability in the region were also discussed.

Sheikh Jaraah expressed Kuwait’s appreciation for the active diplomatic role played by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in supporting the security and stability of the region.

Sheikh Jaraah also met with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Muhammad Ishaq Dar. The meeting reviewed the close historical ties linking the two countries and their friendly peoples.

Both sides emphasized their commitment to strengthening Kuwaiti-Pakistani cooperation across various fields, and to intensifying coordination and consultation on different levels, thereby contributing to elevating bilateral relations to more advanced levels and serving the shared interests of the two friendly countries.

Sheikh Jaraah also met with the Chief of Army Staff and Commander of the Pakistan Armed Forces, General Asim Munir. During the meeting, the enduring historical relations between the two countries and their peoples were reviewed, and the importance of continuing to strengthen cooperation frameworks and intensifying coordination and consultation across various fields, particularly in the defense and security sectors, was reaffirmed. These efforts aim to broaden the horizons of bilateral relations and serve the shared interests of the two friendly countries.
