Dust breaks the intensity of the heat

Meteorological expert Fahad Al-Attiyah confirmed that dust particles can contribute to a reduction in the sensation of high temperatures, as they block part of the sun’s rays and mitigate their intensity.

Al-Attiyah told Al-Rai that “dust waves affecting the country have contributed to lowering temperatures by one to nearly three degrees Celsius,” noting that “maximum temperature rates ranged from 45 to 47 degrees Celsius, with a maximum of 46 degrees Celsius in the Mutrah area. This demonstrates that dust sometimes influences temperatures, but not permanently.”

Al-Attiyah stated that “phenomena such as seasonal creep and climate change are making weather forecasting more difficult,” predicting that “temperature rates will moderate by the end of next September, with a true cooling beginning in early October, as we bid farewell to the 40s and temperatures begin to center around 35 degrees Celsius.” He added that “during the coming days, extreme heat will continue, especially during daytime hours, but humidity levels will rise, particularly in coastal areas.”
