NAMA: Water, food, and health projects for over 30,000 beneficiaries

Khaled Mubarak Al-Shammari, Head of Programs and Initiatives at Namaa Charity under the Asalah Social Reform Association, stated that the humanitarian mission carried out by Namaa Charity to the Republic of Chad embodied the association’s mission to reach people wherever they are, and reflected the values of solidarity and generosity for which Kuwait is known. He noted that the mission targeted the most needy families in Chadian society, with direct beneficiaries across various programs exceeding 30,000 individuals. Additionally, the mission provided relief to Sudanese refugees living in extremely difficult humanitarian conditions, through the implementation of sustainable developmental and relief projects addressing their basic needs, primarily water, food, and healthcare.

Al-Shammari explained that the mission lasted ten days, during which the Namaa Charity team moved between several regions in Chad. Their work began in N’Djamena, where they implemented key projects including the inauguration of four artesian wells, each benefiting over 2,500 people; more than 200 cataract surgeries; the distribution of 200 food baskets; the slaughter and distribution of five calves; and the preparation and distribution of over 1,200 cooked meals. These efforts contributed to meeting the needs of hundreds of families and improving their living conditions.

He added that the team continued its work in Sudanese refugee camps, where a comprehensive package of humanitarian programs was implemented. This included the distribution of 640 food baskets, the slaughter and distribution of 16 calves and five sheep, benefiting more than 1,200 families, as well as the preparation and distribution of over 1,000 cooked meals. Medical convoys were also deployed, providing examination and treatment services to more than 7,000 beneficiaries, amidst the difficult health and humanitarian conditions prevailing in the camps.
