$11 Million... New Support for the “Emergency Response Fund”

The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development announced the contribution of three national institutions to support the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund, launched on July 5, with the aim of enhancing national preparedness and strengthening the state’s capacity to respond swiftly to various challenges and exceptional circumstances.
In three separate statements on Tuesday, the Fund clarified that contributions from the Mohammed Nasser Al-Sayer and Sons Establishment, Alghanim Industries, and Boubyan Bank exemplify the role of the private sector and national financial institutions in supporting strategic initiatives and bolstering the state’s readiness to handle various emergency situations.
In this regard, the Fund announced a contribution of $3 million from the Mohammed Nasser Al-Sayer and Sons Establishment, alongside an in-kind contribution consisting of two specialized hazardous materials extraction vehicles, valued at approximately $2.128 million.
The Fund emphasized that the establishment’s contribution stems from its national and social responsibility, and its commitment to supporting initiatives that contribute to protecting the country and enhancing the capabilities of its vital institutions. It noted that this initiative reflects the establishment’s appreciation for national efforts aimed at strengthening Kuwait’s preparedness and improving its efficiency in dealing with emergency situations and conditions.
It added that the two specialized vehicles will be used to handle emergencies related to the oil and energy sectors, as well as to support the tasks of the General Fire Force and relevant authorities, thereby enhancing the readiness of concerned entities to deal with various emergency circumstances.
It pointed out that the company’s contribution reflects the vital and responsible role of the Kuwaiti private sector in supporting government entities, providing the necessary resources for rapid crisis response, and reinforcing values of solidarity and social cohesion.
The Fund also announced a $3 million contribution from Boubyan Bank to support the fund, emphasizing that this contribution exemplifies the bank’s appreciation for the national efforts undertaken by the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development. It reflects the bank’s firm commitment to its national and social responsibility and its dedication to contributing to strategic initiatives that enhance the state’s preparedness and enable it to respond swiftly and effectively to various emergency and exceptional situations.
The Fund clarified that the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund was established through an initiative by the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, which received approval from the Council of Ministers. The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development manages the fund and exercises full oversight of its operations, with the goal of enhancing institutional resilience, improving national response efficiency, and empowering relevant entities to respond swiftly and effectively to various emergency situations, in line with a comprehensive national vision.
