Ministry of Education: “Summer Robot” Program for Girls Enhances Programming and Innovation Skills
Hanaa Al-Mutairi, head of the Girls’ Summer Robotics Club, confirmed that the club, one of the evening summer clubs, receives attention and support from the Minister of Education, in line with the Ministry’s commitment to providing an advanced educational environment that utilizes students’ free time during the summer vacation and develops their skills in technology and innovation.
Al-Mutairi stated in a statement on Tuesday that the club is witnessing growing interest, with the number of registered learners now exceeding 175. She noted that the club offers specialized programs and activities in educational robotics, according to a systematic plan approved by the Computer Technical Guidance Administration, enabling trainees to acquire technical knowledge and skills through diverse practical and applied experiences.
She added that the club relies on qualified Kuwaiti national cadres who possess a high degree of competence, professionalism, and responsibility in implementing its programs.
She explained that the program includes organizing weekly competitions aimed at enhancing logical thinking, programming, and problem-solving skills. These activities involve programming line-following robots, sumo robots, and a robot designed for a maze competition, all of which contribute to preparing learners to participate in technical competitions and develop their capabilities in the field of robotics.
She further noted that this week’s activities focus on training learners to assemble the mechanical and electronic components of educational robots. She pointed out that the end of the summer season will feature a meeting bringing together the Girls’ Robotics Club and the Boys’ Robotics Club, including practical competitions and challenges that showcase the skills participants have acquired during the training period.
Al-Mutairi encouraged students interested in joining the club to register promptly, emphasizing that the club will continue to accept learners until August 31, coinciding with the end of the summer vacation. She also urged those who were unable to register in advance to visit the club’s headquarters directly to complete registration procedures and benefit from the offered programs and activities.
