Commercial Arbitration Concludes Tamkeen Summer Training Program

The Kuwait Center for Commercial Arbitration, affiliated with the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry, concluded its summer training program, “Tamkeen,” which stands as one of the most prominent specialized programs designed to prepare and qualify law students and recent graduates. This initiative is part of the center’s ongoing efforts to build a national cadre of legal professionals equipped with the necessary knowledge and practical skills to meet the demands of the legal job market.
The program witnessed widespread participation from students and graduates of various law faculties. It was designed to integrate academic foundations with practical application, featuring a distinguished group of experts and specialists in legal and professional fields.
The program covered several key topics, with commercial arbitration taking center stage as one of the most important means of resolving commercial disputes. Participants were introduced to the fundamental principles, procedures, and dispute management mechanisms of arbitration, aligned with best practices.
Furthermore, the program focused on developing the professional skills essential for lawyers at the beginning of their careers. Key areas included professional resume writing, interview preparation, public speaking and communication skills, and negotiation and dialogue techniques. These components aimed to enhance participants’ readiness to enter the job market.
The program also included specialized workshops on drafting legal contracts and preparing legal opinions in accordance with sound professional standards, alongside training in legal English. These sessions were designed to strengthen participants’ ability to handle international legal practices.
Additionally, the program explored the latest practical applications of artificial intelligence in the legal field, emphasizing the use of modern technologies in legal research, document analysis, and supporting the preparation of legal memoranda and drafting. This focus aligns with the digital transformation currently underway in the legal sector at both local and global levels.
