Al-Jahra Brigade... Drums of Joy Beat in "Jerash"

The Al-Jahra Folk Arts Troupe revived a public concert the day before yesterday as part of the activities of the 40th edition of the Jerash International Festival for Culture and Arts, currently taking place in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The troupe presented a large selection of its folk and national art forms, which received unprecedented public engagement.

Fahd Al-Amir, the troupe’s president, told “Al-Rai” that the concert was a great success, particularly after the drums of joy were beaten and anthems of pride and admiration for Kuwaiti and Arab achievements rang out through a wide array of traditional pieces rooted in Kuwaiti heritage. These included “Al-Frisani,” “Al-Majilisi,” as well as “Al-Shilat,” “Al-Ardha,” “Al-Samri,” and others.

He noted that among these musical genres, the troupe dedicated an Ardha titled “Dar Al-Nashama” to the Jordanian people, alongside Kuwaiti national and emotional Ardhas such as “Marhaban Bik Ya Al-Amir” and “Ashraqat Shams Al-Farh.” He explained that the festival management was keen on showcasing traditional Kuwaiti arts, which is why preparations were made in advance for a selection of works, including “Ya Nur Ayni,” “Al-Bar Min Aqab Al-Kawashit Ya Shina,” and “Fi Souq Sharq,” in addition to selections from “Al-Frisani,” such as “Kull Ma Shift Al-Humar Faz Qalbi Lahu,” “Al-Jawwani Yehsabooni Inni Mareed,” and “Ya Fahd Min Da’ij Al-Ayn Jani Telefon,” with the list being extensive.

He also praised the reception and honors bestowed upon him and his troupe by the Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the State of Kuwait’s Embassy in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Counselor Nasser Al-Mutairi, and members of the diplomatic corps.
