Namaa: Implementation of 781 water projects serves 574,000 people

Namaa Charity, an affiliate of the Al-Isalah Social Reform Association, announced the launch of its annual campaign, “Goodness Quenches Their Thirst,” which aims to implement 781 water projects in several countries and regions with the greatest need, benefiting more than 574,450 individuals. The initiative includes a range of specialized projects such as artesian, semi-artesian, and surface wells, alongside the provision of water tanks in crisis-affected areas.
Ibrahim Al-Sanea, Director of Marketing at Namaa Charity, emphasized that the water crisis entails more than just thirst; its repercussions extend to education, health, and family stability. He noted that in some African regions, thousands of children begin their day with long journeys on foot to search for water, which can take hours, whereas they should be in school. This deprives them of their right to education and negatively impacts their future.
Al-Sanea added that women bear the brunt of this hardship, spending hours each day searching for and transporting water instead of caring for their children or engaging in activities that could improve their family’s standard of living. Providing a nearby and safe water source, he said, represents a genuine turning point in the lives of families and communities.
He clarified that the campaign extends to humanitarian crisis zones, foremost among them the Gaza Strip, where many areas suffer from a severe water shortage, and thousands of residents rely on water tanks to meet their daily needs. Additionally, the campaign supports Sudanese refugees in Chad by providing water tanks. Al-Sanea stated that the campaign’s projects will be implemented in Palestine, Yemen, Chad, Benin, Somalia, India, and Niger, tailored to the specific needs of each region.
