Netanyahu to provide Trump with information on Tehran's nuclear progress

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu affirmed, on the eve of his first meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump since the onset of their conflict with Tehran in February last year, that the talks would address a number of files, foremost among them Iran, alongside security issues and expanding the scope of regional relations.

Speaking before departing Israel, he noted that this was his eighth meeting with Trump since his return to the presidency in his second term, adding that the number of meetings between him and the U.S. president exceeded those between the American president and any other international leader, describing this as “a great honor and a great responsibility.”

He added that the current phase, which he described as complex, requires “working with great firmness, but also with great wisdom,” emphasizing that the primary objective of his visit is “to ensure Israel’s security, strength, and future.”

The prime minister clarified that he would discuss “all issues on the table” with Trump, stressing that Israel seeks to maintain its security while simultaneously “expanding the circle of peace around it.”

Israeli Channel 12 reported, citing sources, that Netanyahu is bringing “sensitive information” to Washington and will provide Trump with “recent intelligence” regarding Iran’s progress toward acquiring a nuclear bomb.
