Sisi directs the presentation of the Maspero archiving achievements to the public
On Monday, President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi directed that the achievements realized in the project to archive and digitize the radio and television heritage of the Egyptian Radio and Television Union (Maspero) be presented to the public, clarifying the extent of the efforts made to document and preserve Egypt’s great heritage within the Egyptian Television Library.
During a meeting with government leaders, he emphasized the importance of Maspero’s modernization combining infrastructure upgrades, expansion of media content, and heritage digitization. He directed the necessity of coordination among relevant state entities and the exchange of perspectives regarding mechanisms for developing Egyptian media, including its government and private institutions and channels.
He was briefed on projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing the digital presence of national media content, including the “Maspero Platform,” updates on the preservation of the heritage of Quran reciters and chanters, and the protection of numerous programs previously broadcast on the Holy Quran Radio, within the framework of a strategy to maximize the role of digital media under the slogan “Digital First.”
He was also briefed on the implementation status of the project to archive and digitize the heritage of radio and television, a strategic project aimed at protecting the state’s cultural and media assets and making them available again in a manner that keeps pace with technological developments and serves cultural, educational, and media purposes.
On another note, and prior to the announcement of a new leadership reshuffle in the police, el-Sisi received Interior Minister Major General Mahmoud Tawfiq at the summer presidential headquarters in New Alamein.
In diplomatic developments, Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, during a phone call with his Sudanese counterpart Mohi ad-Din Salem, stressed the importance of neighboring countries respecting Sudan’s sovereignty and security, as well as the importance of respecting the principle of Sudanese ownership of the political process. He emphasized support for stability and ending the conflict, contributing to a comprehensive political settlement that safeguards Sudan’s sovereignty and meets its people’s aspirations for security, stability, and development.
The Egyptian minister and his Greek counterpart, Georgios Gerapetritis, also agreed during a phone call to continue coordination within the framework of strategic relations and to support efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region.
