Zain supports “Kuwait Codes” to prepare students for a technology-driven future
Zain Kuwait continues its strategic partnership with CODED Academy to support the new season of the “Kuwait Codes” initiative, one of the most prominent educational programs that offers high school students the opportunity to acquire a wide range of technology and artificial intelligence skills, and to develop their capabilities through a practical and interactive training experience.
This partnership extends the collaborative journey between the two parties over the past years, which has resulted in training more than 4,500 students in technical and programming fields in high demand in the job market. This step reflects both parties’ commitment to introducing youth to the world of technology at an early stage, helping them discover their interests, and better preparing them for their academic and professional paths.
As part of the program’s accompanying activities, Zain hosted more than 50 students participating in “Kuwait Codes” at its headquarters. The interactive visit aimed to bring them closer to the actual work environment and introduce them to how technology and AI are utilized across various business sectors.
The visit included a comprehensive overview of Zain, its business operations, and its role in the telecommunications and technology sector, followed by a session on media work and AI. During this session, students learned about the opportunities offered by modern technologies to develop content and enhance efficiency, as well as the importance of the responsible and conscious use of AI tools.
Students also participated in an introductory session on cybersecurity, which covered its growing role in protecting systems, data, and digital infrastructure, along with key practices that contribute to safe technology usage. This comes amid the increasing importance of this field within the digital economy and the future job market.
The visit concluded with a tour of the 107 Contact Center, where students closely observed the customer service journey. They learned about the mechanisms for receiving and handling inquiries, and how Zain teams leverage technical systems and solutions to support customers and deliver a faster, more efficient experience.
This year, the program is held at the American University of Kuwait and targets students aged 14 to 18. Each participant chooses one of three main tracks: cybersecurity, Python programming using AI technologies, and web development using AI.
The cybersecurity track provides students with the fundamentals of protecting systems and information, along with hands-on training using specialized tools and participation in a distinctive practical challenge. The Python track introduces students to leveraging AI technologies for coding and developing simplified applications, while the web development track takes them on a journey starting from designing web pages and ending with building a complete website with the help of AI tools.
The program is based on learning by doing, where students move from simplified explanations to directly applying concepts in each session. It also includes participation in workshops, challenges, and friendly competitions, as well as working on practical projects presented at the end of the experience. Students who complete the program requirements receive a certificate from CODED Academy, which supports their educational journey and enriches their resumes.
This partnership aligns with Zain’s corporate sustainability strategy, which prioritizes youth empowerment and digital education. Through this strategy, Zain strives to support programs that contribute to building national capabilities and preparing a generation equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to participate in the digital economy.
The initiative also represents an extension of the ongoing collaboration between Zain and the CODED Academy, which has encompassed a number of flagship programs, including the X Academy, the Kuwait Hackathon, and specialized training initiatives aimed at expanding opportunities for technical learning, fostering innovation, and preparing national talent to compete for future jobs.
