Kuwait Fire Service Warns of Summer Risks to Vehicles

The General Fireforce issued an awareness bulletin containing a set of preventive guidelines for vehicle safety during the summer season, amid significant rises in temperatures, with the aim of reducing accidents and potential risks, and safeguarding the lives and property of citizens and residents.

The Force emphasized that regular vehicle maintenance is one of the most important preventive measures, urging owners to undergo comprehensive and routine servicing at authorized workshops to ensure the safety and efficiency of mechanical and electrical components.

It stressed the necessity of not leaving flammable or explosive materials inside vehicles exposed to sunlight, such as perfumes, lighters, chargers, portable power banks, and similar items, due to the danger they pose as temperatures rise.

The Force advised against installing additional low-quality electrical wiring or connections, as they may cause electrical short circuits that could lead to fires.

The General Fireforce recommended periodically inspecting and replacing consumable parts, particularly tires and the braking system, while ensuring that a suitable fire extinguisher is present in the vehicle and remains serviceable at all times. It underscored the importance of immediately calling the emergency number (112) in the event of any accident or emergency, and wished everyone safety and security.
