Kuwait condemns Iran-backed militia attacks in Iraq on Saudi Arabia

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Kuwait’s strongest condemnation and denunciation of the attacks that sought to target petroleum facilities in the Eastern and Riyadh regions of the sister Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, carried out by drones launched by Iran-backed militias in Iraq. These attacks constitute a blatant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as a breach of international law, the UN Charter, and Security Council Resolution 2817.
In a statement issued today, Monday, the Ministry reaffirmed Kuwait’s full solidarity with the sister Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its support for all measures taken to safeguard its security and sovereignty, emphasizing that the security of the Kingdom is an integral part of the security of the State of Kuwait and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
