Kuwait’s national team suffered a heavy 106-51 defeat to Bahrain in the second round of the Gulf Youth Basketball Championship, hosted in Doha until the 30th of this month and serving as a qualifier for the Asian Cup finals in India.
This marks the second consecutive loss for the “Blue Youth” squad, following their earlier 62-59 defeat to Oman, leaving them with two points. Meanwhile, Bahrain secured their second straight victory, after beating Saudi Arabia 62-54, raising their tally to four points.
Kuwait will play their third match against Qatar at 7:00 PM on Monday, while Oman and Bahrain will face each other at 5:00 PM.
The tournament is being held in a single-round robin format, with the top two teams qualifying for the Asian Championship, which offers four berths for the 2027 FIBA World Cup in the Czech Republic.
