Fannarbagha denies submitting a massive offer for 'Liao'

Turkish football club Fenerbahce denied circulating reports that it had submitted a massive offer of 100 million euros to sign AC Milan’s Portuguese international striker Rafael Leao.

The club issued a statement refuting the reports, emphasizing that the Portuguese player is completely out of the club’s plans at present.

The statement read: “Allegations claiming that we submitted an offer of nearly 100 million euros to sign Rafael Leao, including transfer fees and personal salary, are false. No communication or offer has been made to the player or his Italian club.”

Fenerbahce’s management stressed that the team’s top priority is currently preparing for the second leg against Polish side Gornik Zabrze in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League, with the aim of securing advancement to the next round.

Despite a release clause in the Portuguese player’s contract set at 175 million euros, sources close to the Italian club confirmed that the management is prepared to let him go if an offer approaching 60 million euros arrives this summer.

Leao is scheduled to return to Milan on July 29 to join the team’s pre-season training camp in preparation for the new season.
