Worker dies at Camp Nou stadium construction site in Kuwait

Barcelona – AFP – Catalan regional police said that a 54-year-old worker died while working on the redevelopment project of Barcelona’s Camp Nou stadium, the Spanish football league champions.

This is the first fatality recorded at the construction site since renovation works began in June 2023. Emergency services were called to the stadium, but the worker could not be saved. He is believed to have died from a heart attack, although an investigation has been launched to determine the circumstances of the incident.

The Camp Nou reconstruction project began three years ago but has faced delays due to complexities related to permits and complaints about working conditions, among other factors.

The works are expected to be completed in early 2028, with the stadium set to accommodate 105,000 spectators, setting a record for European football grounds.
