Interior Minister Discusses with Basra Governor Enhancing Security Coordination to Support Border Security

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef met with Basra Governor Asaad Al-Eidani of the Republic of Iraq to discuss several issues of mutual interest, foremost among them the latest developments in the security situation in the region, in the presence of several security and military leaders from the Ministries of Defense and Interior.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed areas of cooperation and discussed ways to enhance security coordination, in order to support border security and serve shared interests, within the framework of the fraternal relations between the State of Kuwait and the sisterly Republic of Iraq.

At the conclusion of the visit, Al-Yousef inspected the Abdali border crossing, where he personally assessed the extent of the damage inflicted on the crossing as a result of the unjust Iranian aggression. He directed the relevant authorities to promptly evaluate the damages and take the necessary measures to reopen the crossing as soon as possible, ensuring the resumption of normal traffic and serving the interests of both brotherly countries.
