Al-Hayy to "Al-Rai": No truth to rumors of halting grazing license issuance... "Agriculture" continues to accept applications

Salem Al-Hai, the Director General of the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources, told Al-Rai that rumors regarding the suspension of the issuance of grazing permits are false. He emphasized that the decision to issue grazing permits remains in effect and is being implemented, and that the Authority continues to accept applications for permits in accordance with established procedures.

He clarified that applicants are received by scheduling an appointment in advance through the “Sahel” application to complete the required documents and procedures. He stressed that the decision to regulate grazing permits was based on a technical and legal study and aims to organize grazing operations, preserve pastures, and enforce the relevant laws and regulations.

He noted that grazing permits are limited exclusively to cattle, sheep, and camels, as these are the species covered by the provisions of the law. He added that the scheduled field campaigns are set to begin in October of next year.

He revealed that interest in obtaining permits has seen a significant increase since the acceptance of applications opened. More than 700 permits have been issued since last Sunday until the end of business hours yesterday, Thursday, reflecting the commitment of livestock owners to regularize their status and comply with the regulatory requirements.

He renewed his call for all livestock owners to take the initiative in booking appointments and completing the permit issuance procedures during the current period. He affirmed that the Authority remains committed to facilitating procedures and providing its services, and that it will continue to enforce the law in a manner that serves the public interest, preserves pastures, and protects state property.
