A Letter to a Traitor
Safe, stable nations where people have access to all the conveniences and essentials of life are an invaluable blessing: education, healthcare, security, safety, employment opportunities, and rising wages.
The state fully covers medical treatment. If local health centers and hospitals are unable to treat you, you can receive fully funded treatment in the world’s best hospitals, with a weekly stipend provided for you and your companion. Education is guaranteed from kindergarten through to the attainment of a doctoral degree, along with state-sponsored scholarships for undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the world’s top universities.
Comprehensive government subsidies cover nearly all aspects of life, from the fuel you use to fill your eight-cylinder car, to food, water, electricity, and medicine. You receive a salary that affords you and your family a dignified life, and this salary continues to be paid even after you pass away and are laid to rest in Al-Sulaibikhat, relieving society of your presence.
You traitor... I do not care about your name, your ideology, your educational level, your degree, your social environment, your profession, or anything else. What matters to me is how you could bring yourself to renounce the honor of citizenship and betray the country whose nationality you carried and boasted about throughout your life. How could you betray a homeland that granted you all the aforementioned privileges and provided you with a dignified life that billions of human beings dream of? And yet, you foolishly and maliciously rushed toward a state that is inevitably a transient enemy—a state hurtling madly toward the abyss, a country incapable of providing its own people with the dignified life they desire, and completely unable to deliver modern services like other respected nations. Its economy is in the negative, and its currency is worth less than a handful of dirt. This country has spent hundreds of billions on manufacturing weapons, missiles, drones, enriching uranium, and ingeniously digging caves and tunnels. Today, I, you, and everyone else watch them evaporate and burn under the flames of Ghost aircraft, B-52 bombers, and Tomahawk missiles.
Dear reader—and you are not dear to me—identity and belonging are not merely a piece of paper, nor are they false claims made for the sake of boasting, pretense, or acting. Identity and belonging represent great honor, sincere attachment to the land, and a constant readiness to sacrifice for it and defend it, starting with words and ending with bearing arms. To relinquish this great honor and cooperate with or facilitate the actions of an external enemy who lurks and harbors malice toward your homeland and its people is a disgrace that will remain on your forehead for life. Indeed, it will extend to your children after you, even though they are not responsible for your actions and your betrayal.
Kuwait stood by Iran during times of hardship and disaster. Today, Iran attacks Kuwait’s power stations, oil facilities, Kuwaiti oil tankers, and other civilian infrastructure. Is there anything more vile and despicable?
