Our steadfast soldiers... our pride and honor

No matter how much we speak of the nation’s defenders, the steadfast soldiers, we still fall short of honoring them, let alone fully deserving their sacrifice.

When security and stability in the State of Kuwait are mentioned, the first images that come to mind are those men and women who have dedicated themselves to serving the country, protecting its territory, and safeguarding its achievements.

The nation’s defenders, comprising members of the Armed Forces, the Ministry of Interior, the National Guard, the General Firefighting Force, and all other security and safety agencies, constitute Kuwait’s first line of defense. Through their daily actions, they embody the highest ideals of loyalty, sacrifice, and patriotism. In a world where security challenges are intensifying and regional and international developments are accelerating, the role played by loyal Kuwaitis in protecting the country’s land, sea, and air borders, and securing vital installations and strategic facilities against the aggressions of a notorious neighbor—whose attacks seem to know no bounds—has never been more critical. Thus, security and military service is not merely a job or profession, but a noble national mission that demands constant readiness to sacrifice and give up the precious.

Nation’s defenders spend long hours away from their families and children, standing guard at their posts, vigilant for the security of the country and the well-being of its people, placing Kuwait’s interests above all else. They bear risks and challenges in fulfilling their national duty, firmly believing that defending the homeland is an honor without equal. Moreover, the sacrifices of the nation’s defenders extend beyond confronting obvious threats; they also encompass preventive and proactive efforts aimed at protecting society from various dangers before they materialize.

Significant efforts are being made in combating crime, securing borders, protecting cybersecurity, and enhancing national readiness to face crises. These activities may not be directly visible to citizens or residents, yet they form the foundation of the stability that the country enjoys. If Kuwait today enjoys security and safety and continues its developmental journey with confidence and capability, this is, by God’s grace, due to the vigilance, loyalty, and dedication of the nation’s defenders in performing their duties.

Therefore, appreciating their efforts and taking pride in their sacrifices is both a national and moral obligation. They are the support, after God, in protecting the homeland, and the impregnable fortress that preserves Kuwait’s security, stability, and dignity.
