Development Fund: National Bank contributes $5 million to Emergency Response

The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development announced that the National Bank of Kuwait has contributed $5 million to the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund, launched by the Fund on July 5, with the aim of enhancing national readiness and strengthening the State of Kuwait’s capacity to respond immediately to challenges and exceptional circumstances.

In a statement, the Fund noted that the contribution embodies the National Bank of Kuwait’s national role and its firm commitment to its social responsibility, as well as its belief in the importance of supporting national initiatives that enhance the State’s readiness and ability to respond to emergency and exceptional conditions, reflecting the values of partnership and national responsibility between the public and private sectors.

The statement added that the National Bank of Kuwait’s support for the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund stems from the Bank’s keenness to reinforce the Fund’s national mission of enhancing the State’s readiness and enabling it to confront various conditions and challenges, as well as its belief in the importance of making an active contribution to national initiatives that serve the public interest and embody the values of partnership and national responsibility.

It pointed out that the National Bank of Kuwait is the first and oldest bank in the State of Kuwait and the Arab Gulf region, and has succeeded over decades in building a leading banking institution that offers a comprehensive range of banking, financial, and investment services and solutions to individuals and companies, meeting the needs of various economic sectors.

It clarified that the National Bank of Kuwait holds a significant share of banking activity and enjoys a growing base of local and regional clients, while also possessing the widest network of external branches, representative offices, and subsidiaries, spread across major global financial and business capitals, including China, France, Singapore, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America.

The statement highlighted that the establishment of the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund was initiated by the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, received approval from the Council of Ministers, and is managed and fully supervised by the Kuwait Fund, with the goal of enhancing institutional resilience, improving national response efficiency, and enabling relevant authorities to deal swiftly and effectively with emergency conditions through a comprehensive national vision.
