Under the patronage and in the presence of His Highness the Prime Minister, Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Ministry of State for Youth Affairs and Sports hosted, on Wednesday evening, the National Awards Ceremony for champions of the national teams, both male and female, for the 2023–2024 and 2024–2025 sports seasons, at the Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre.
Following the ceremony, His Highness affirmed that the achievements attained by the champions of the national teams represent a source of pride and honor, reflecting the spirit of determination and resolve embodied by Kuwaiti men and women, and the exceptional efforts they make to represent their country and raise its name and flag at various sporting arenas.
The Prime Minister stated that this recognition is in appreciation of the considerable efforts exerted by the athletes, as well as the technical and administrative staff, which have resulted in outcomes and achievements that have elevated Kuwait’s name at regional and international sporting events. He emphasized that the government places great importance on Kuwaiti sports and is committed to providing a supportive environment that enables athletes to continue excelling and achieving further success.
He added that investing in the potential of young national talents constitutes a fundamental pillar in building a promising future for sports in Kuwait, expressing his pride and honor in the achievements attained by Kuwaitis in securing these high rankings.
For his part, Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Dr. Tariq Al-Jalahma delivered a speech at the ceremony, in which he affirmed that honoring our athlete champions by His Highness the Prime Minister is a recognition of the effort and dedication they have demonstrated, and a message of pride in the achievements we all cherish. He reaffirmed the continued support for athletes and the provision of an appropriate environment that enables them to develop their capabilities and realize their aspirations, thereby enhancing Kuwait’s standing on the sporting stage.
He noted that this recognition represents a message of appreciation and pride for every athlete who has exerted effort and achieved honorable accomplishments for the nation, stressing that investing in national sporting talent is one of the key pillars for developing the sports sector and strengthening a culture of excellence and achievement.
He confirmed that the Public Authority for Youth and Sports, in collaboration with relevant authorities, continues to provide a suitable environment for cultivating champions and developing the sports system, in accordance with a comprehensive vision based on supporting talents and enhancing institutional performance, contributing to achieving further successes and raising Kuwait’s flag in various sporting competitions.

He added that the Authority is working to foster a spirit of competition among athletes, thereby contributing to improved performance levels and securing podium finishes at all regional and international events.
